Cleveland Cavaliers vs Brooklyn Nets 98-94
On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Brooklyn Nets by the score of 98-94 to open the season. The home crowd at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland was delighted by the debut of Andrew Bynum who played his first NBA game since May 21, 2012 while being among the first NBA fans to see former Boston Celtics’ superstars Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in their Nets’ uniforms.
All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving who logged 15 points, seven rebounds and nine assists led Cleveland, while forward Tristan Thompson added 18 points and nine boards. Bynum scored three points and grabbed three boards in eight minutes off the bench.
Center Brook Lopez led Brooklyn with 21 points while Pierce added 17 points and Garnett logged 10 rebounds.
